The (volume 46, number 3) features a selection of articles on a wide range of timely issues in world politics.
The nine articles in this issue address such pressing problems as the dynamics of (Tarald Gulseth Berge and Jonathan W. Kuyper), specifically in relation to international investment agreements. In their article, Garrity and Mylonas explore the highly relevant issue of , advocating in favour of a much-needed dialogue between the research fields of conflict studies, nation-building, and forced migration, all of which are interrelated facets of eliminationist politics.
In their piece on as key stakeholders in representative and participatory democracy, Goutry et al. use vignette surveys to examine perceptions held by local politicians in regards to legitimacy. Adding new insights from China, Yan et al. look at in the country, highlighting the need for greater public responsiveness on the part of government authorities in China. Golosov makes important methodological inquiries into , with an empirical test of the Duvergerian effects of forgoing a multi-party system. Political donations have long been a source of contention for political commentators and publics alike. In their article on , Lisa Marriott and Max Rashbrooke provide deeper insights into the motivations underlying such donations. On the hot-button issue of , Pippa Norris explores academic freedom through the lens of self-censorship on campuses, based on survey data on close to 2,000 political scientists across some 100 countries worldwide. On the subject of gender-based political attitudes, Langsæther and Knutsen investigate in political attitudes across democracies in Western Europe. Finally, Zhu and Li provide key insights into , using the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a case study on specific diffusion mechanisms.
